Not so E-Z

Poverty wages, lack of benefits, favoritism, and disrespect: workers at the E-Z pass administrative center in Staten Island had jobs that sucked.  That’s why they decided to form a union.  Despite the company’s vicious anti-union campaign, speed-up scheme, and refusal to bargain, the workers stood strong.

But on Monday, 14 pro-union workers were fired, just days after literally standing up on the job to show their support for the union:

One by one, 14 union supporters at the E-Z Pass administrative center in New York got a call from their boss on Monday asking them to “come into my office.” Then, one by one, all union supporters were told that their services were no longer needed. One union activist, Frank Buonvicino, was told that “we know you were one of the union leaders” as he was let go. On the Friday before they were fired, all these workers had sent a message by standing up for 60 seconds while continuing to work.

Want to do something?  Xerox operates the E-Z pass center-so CWA has launched a petition to Xerox CEO Ursula Burns.  Sign it here, and tell Xerox to let E-Z pass workers fix their jobs.

Your actions are disgusting. Reinstate all employees immediately or my office is finished dealing with Xeorx! Nothing would make me happier than ridding our office of this $1000 a month copier!
