About Us

AMERICA’S WORKERS ARE FED UP

The millions of Americans without jobs are not the only ones who are frustrated with their economic situation. Even those who do have jobs are suffering under unfair working conditions, poor pay, and uncaring employers. We’re working harder and longer, and most of us are still struggling to make ends meet.

Scared, stressed, and scarred by economic insecurity and a lack of a voice in the workplace, it’s no surprise that Americans are more unsatisfied with their jobs than we have been over the past two decades.

Why are we fed up with our jobs? For some of us, it’s because we aren’t getting paid for all of the hours we work. For others, it’s because we’re working so hard we aren’t even allowed to leave to take care of a sick child, or worse, take a bathroom break. Often, we live in fear of being fired and replaced by a lower-paid employee.

IT’S TIME TO FIX OUR JOBS

Enough is enough! We need to fix our jobs now. We need to give all workers a voice in the workplace and a chance to improve their situation. And while we all have a responsibility to make our workplaces better, the only way we’ll get meaningful results is by reforming the system.

We need to press our nation’s leaders for big, bold fixes to our jobs crisis.

That means putting people to work. But it also means leveling the playing field for workers who are trying to get ahead — giving workers a stronger voice and a fair shake through meaningful labor law reform. By protecting workers’ rights to join unions, we can all improve our workplaces, and gain job security, better health care, and fair benefits. We can ensure that the economy works for everyone again.

WHY IS IT TIME? WHY NOT?

Unless you’re a CEO, you’re feeling the squeeze.  Our nation’s jobs crisis and the recession are the top issues facing this country.  But we’ve yet to see any real solutions from our leaders.

The status quo of awful jobs, a lack of accountability by employers, and no sizable progress on our nation’s unemployment and jobs crisis is unacceptable. The time is now for our leaders in Washington to create and fix America’s jobs and rebuild our middle class! To do that, they must move quickly to pass meaningful labor law reform.

WE NEED YOUR HELP

We can’t sit back and hope these problems take care of themselves. We need to fix our jobs now! Congress needs to be held accountable, but won’t feel the pressure unless you — and countless other Americans who are sick and tired of waiting for change — get involved. So take two minutes to write your leaders. We’ll make sure they get the message!

p.s. Then tell us if you heart or hate your job!

WHAT’S UP WITH “UNDERCOVER BOSS?

“Undercover Boss” is a new reality show on CBS where CEOs of top American corporations go undercover as regular employees – to purportedly to get a firsthand look at the conditions and challenges they face.

Whether you think “Undercover Boss” is an earnest effort by corporate America to make changes OR you think the show is a gimmick used by CEOs for free advertising, the bottom line is that the change that occurs on camera for a few select workplaces is not enough.

Millions of people across America do not have a reality show to shed light on their problems in the workplace, and that’s why we are here – to create a platform for Americans to air their work grievances, to help draw attention to real stories of poor working conditions and workplace injustice people face every day, and demand a call for meaningful reform for all of America’s workers.
